The word “goblin” refers to both the goblin creature as well as to a family of creatures that includes hobgoblins, bugbears and the goblins described below.

Goblins are wicked, treacherous creatures that love plunder and cruelty. They are not very big or strong, but they are agile and fast moving. Goblins breed quickly and can live almost anywhere – from caves to ruins to a city’s sewers. They survive by raiding and robbery.

Goblins are cowardly and tend to retreat or surrender when outmatched. They are fond of taking slaves, though they are often enslaved by other humanoids themselves.

Goblins sleep, eat and play in shared living areas. Typically, only a leader will have private chambers. Goblins are often filthy and soiled, and so are their lairs.
